Somme France - The Top of the Tower, Australian National Memorial

The top of the tower showing a view of the cemetery. The plaque at the centre has arrows pointing to all the other Australian battlefields in Europe. Look for the bullet holes in the stonework. These are from WW2 when French soldiers in the top of the tower were strafed by a German aircraft.
